Keep the Court's Passion Fiery, and the Night for Rest Tranquil
GigaTera's Light, Designing the Boundary
- This project is a premier premium sports lighting solution in which GigaTera's high-performance MAHA LED floodlight was applied in 2021 to two tennis courts within a premium multi-purpose complex in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi-do, to perfectly overcome the constraints of a space adjacent to accommodation facilities and to simultaneously create a superior playing environment and a comfortable resting environment.
The biggest challenge for this premium multi-purpose complex, which features top-tier tennis courts alongside accommodation and café facilities, was to provide a superior playing environment for athletes while simultaneously guaranteeing a perfectly restful environment, free from light intrusion, for the guests in the immediately adjacent lodging. To satisfy both of these potentially conflicting values, GigaTera proposed 'the technology of precisely controlling light' as its core solution.
A total of 12 MAHA 600W floodlights, through GigaTera's state-of-the-art optical technology, precisely focus the light only within the required court area and fundamentally block light pollution directed toward the surrounding accommodations. This was the most ideal solution, providing a pleasant, glare-free line of sight for the players and a tranquil night for the guests.
The powerful and uniform light, with an average illuminance of over 700 lux across the entire court, provides visitors with a superior playing experience, while the tranquil, light-pollution-free surrounding environment proves why this is a premier premium space. This project, which achieved all of this with an efficient total power consumption of 7.2kW, is a premier case that demonstrates GigaTera's engineering philosophy of understanding the value of a space and maximizing that value through technology.
