GigaTera's Light, Perfecting the Competitiveness of a Global Logistics Hub
- This project is a premier industrial lighting solution in which the existing lighting at the Gamcheon LME Logistics Warehouse—a key hub for global non-ferrous metal logistics and a designated warehouse of the London Metal Exchange (LME)—was completely replaced with GigaTera's flagship high-efficiency SEGA LED bay lighting to secure the highest level of safety and operational efficiency befitting its international status.
An LME designated warehouse that handles high-value non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and zinc is a dynamic industrial site where heavy machinery and cargo trucks move non-stop, 24 hours a day. In such an environment, 'light' is the most critical safety infrastructure that protects the value of assets and the lives of workers. The old, existing lighting presented a serious challenge as it hindered workers' visibility due to low illuminance and severe shadow effects, which in turn led to the risk of safety accidents and a decrease in cargo handling efficiency.
To meet the stringent standards of this global logistics hub, GigaTera installed its flagship high-efficiency LED bay light, SEGA, as the optimal solution, and filled the entire vast warehouse interior with uniform and powerful light, leaving no blind spots. This fundamentally prevents the risk of collision accidents by perfectly securing the line of sight for operators of massive heavy machinery, and maximizes the efficiency of loading and unloading operations by enabling workers to quickly and accurately identify the type and condition of loaded cargo.
After the project's completion, the Gamcheon LME Logistics Warehouse was equipped with a world-class, safe, and efficient working environment befitting its international reputation. The pleasant light, which reduces eye strain, contributes to maintaining the concentration of workers on 24-hour shifts, which in turn leads to improved productivity. Furthermore, the significant energy savings and long lifespan compared to the previous lighting are playing a key role in greatly reducing the logistics center's operational costs and elevating the facility's profitability and sustainability to the next level.
