A Light of Reassurance that Calmed Residents' Worries

A Neglected Park, Reborn as a Vibrant Space for All

This project is a premier park environment improvement solution in which the lighting system of the Okcheon Sanggye Sports Park gateball court was newly installed with GigaTera's high-efficiency LED lighting to completely resolve the persistent safety complaints from local residents caused by the dark environment, transforming it into a safe space for all.

Sanggye Sports Park was originally a valuable space created for the health and relaxation of its residents, but it was not fulfilling its function due to the fundamental problem of 'darkness.' Due to the lack of nighttime lighting, the park and its walkways were perceived as unsettling spaces with a risk of safety accidents, which particularly led to avoidance by women and families with children, resulting in a situation where the unfortunate complaint that it was "built but not properly operated" was constantly being raised.

GigaTera listened to the voices of these residents and set its top priority to go beyond simply supplying light to restoring 'reassurance' and 'vitality.' First, it installed 10 units of the SEGA 80W on the gateball court and optimally positioned 6 units of the WAPA 75W on the inner frame of the court to eliminate blind spots, creating a bright and pleasant environment with an average illuminance of over 300 lux.

After the project's completion, Sanggye Sports Park was perfectly reborn as a safe and vibrant community space where the long-standing wishes of the residents were resolved. The innovative low-power design, totaling only 1.25kW, minimized the economic burden of facility operation, and the brightened park has now established itself as a local landmark where people of all ages can safely enjoy walks and exercise even in the evening. This is the most successful case of resolving a civil complaint by responding to the voices of the residents with technology to restore the park's original value.
