This project is a premier sports facility lighting modernization solution in which the aging 1000W class mercury lamps of the Tomakomai City General Gymnasium, a key public sports facility in Tomakomai, Hokkaido, Japan, were completely replaced in 2016 with GigaTera's 240W class state-of-the-art, high-efficiency LED high-bay lights, earning overwhelming satisfaction in all aspects.

Although the Tomakomai City General Gymnasium was an important facility supporting various community sports activities, it faced two serious operational problems due to its existing 1000W class mercury lamp lighting. The first was a severe degradation of illuminance due to the aging of the lights, and the second was the chronic problem of mercury lamps, which require a long time to fully brighten after being switched on. This was a key challenge that hindered the convenience of using the facility and caused inefficient energy waste.

To perfectly solve these problems, GigaTera's innovative 240W class LED high-bay lighting solution was adopted. GigaTera focused on fundamentally improving the inefficiency of the facility's operations, going beyond simply replacing the lamps. The project's success was clearly proven by the highest praise received from all officials. Facility officials provided official feedback, stating, "It has become incomparably brighter than before," and "We love that it turns on instantly as soon as you flip the switch." Furthermore, by achieving a phenomenal energy saving rate of approximately 76% through this lighting replacement, it was recorded as a premier success story that perfectly achieved both goals of improving light quality and reducing operational costs.
