GigaTera's Light, Becoming the New Standard for Kagoshima Civic Gymnasium
- This project is a premier public sports facility lighting modernization solution in which the old, existing lighting at the Kagoshima Civic Gymnasium, a center for community sports activities in the Kagoshima region, was completely replaced with GigaTera's state-of-the-art, high-efficiency LED high-bay lighting system to provide a superior environment for all its users.
As a critically important public facility responsible for the health and leisure activities of local residents through various indoor sports such as basketball, volleyball, and badminton, the Kagoshima Civic Gymnasium was tasked with providing a pleasant and safe environment for all its users. In particular, the old, existing lighting caused problems of high energy consumption and frequent maintenance, and the illuminance imbalance and glare within the gymnasium were potential factors that could affect user performance and safety.
To solve this challenge, GigaTera went beyond a simple lamp replacement to provide an optimal lighting solution that considered the purpose and characteristics of the space. GigaTera's high-efficiency LED high-bay lights achieve superior brightness with minimal energy, and through sophisticated optical technology, they suppress glare and uniformly diffuse light across the entire court. Through this, it aimed to maximize citizen satisfaction by creating the safest and most pleasant lighting environment, optimized for a variety of sports activities.
After the project's completion, the Kagoshima Civic Gymnasium was reborn as a safe and pleasant space of light that satisfies all its users. The noticeably improved illuminance and uniform light environment contribute to enhancing player performance, and the vivid light, close to natural daylight, makes every movement more dynamic. Above all, through the introduction of the high-efficiency LED lighting system, it achieved the outstanding result of dramatically reducing energy consumption compared to the previous system and minimizing maintenance costs associated with lamp replacement, thereby maximizing the economic efficiency of the facility's operations from a long-term perspective.
