Europe's Largest-Scale Innovation, Proving Productivity with Light

GigaTera's Light, Making the Heart of the Automotive Production Line Beat Again

This project is Europe's largest single-factory lighting modernization project, in which 3,408 aging metal halide lights at a world-class automotive production plant in Europe were completely replaced with GigaTera's state-of-the-art LED high-bay lights. Through this, it met the stringent operational environment standards of the European Union (EN-12464-1) and maximized productivity and quality competitiveness.

A key factory in Slovakia that produces world-class automobiles faced a significant challenge of decreased work efficiency and difficulties in quality control due to a dim lighting environment that fell short of the European Union's (EU) operational standard (300 lux). This was a problem that threatened not only worker safety but also the core competitiveness of the factory, which must lead the global market.

To solve this problem, GigaTera was chosen as the optimal partner to successfully lead this largest-scale project in Europe. GigaTera provided a solution that replaced the existing 450W metal halide lights with 130W ultra-high-efficiency 'SEGA' LED high-bay lights on a 1-to-1 basis. This was a massive transformation that went beyond a simple lighting replacement to fundamentally innovate the factory's entire energy efficiency and operational environment.

The success of this project is clearly proven by unparalleled, overwhelming data. After the lighting replacement, the factory's overall average illuminance was dramatically improved by more than 60%, perfectly meeting the EU standard, and the high Color Rendering Index (CRI), close to natural daylight, led to quality improvements by enabling the clear distinction of component colors.

The most astonishing achievement is its economic efficiency. GigaTera's solution achieved a phenomenal energy saving rate of 71%, saving approximately 520 million KRW in electricity costs annually, and recorded an incredible return on investment (ROI), recovering the initial investment in just 1.6 years.
