- This project is a premier high-security facility lighting project in which the entire interior and exterior lighting system of the newly constructed Abu Dhabi Presidential Flight Hangar, built for the private aircraft of the UAE’s head of state, was successfully implemented as a complete turn-key solution, combining GigaTera's state-of-the-art LED lighting with professional consulting.
The newly constructed Presidential Flight Hangar, built on a massive scale to accommodate two A380 aircraft simultaneously, required the highest level of technology and perfection in all aspects, as befitting a symbol of the nation's prestige. In particular, meeting the stringent standards of 'Estidama,' Abu Dhabi's green building rating system, by achieving superior lighting quality with minimal energy consumption was a key challenge of the project.
In this environment that required ultimate reliability, the Presidential Flight team chose GigaTera as its final partner, which had proven the most outstanding technology in all aspects of quality, reliability, and performance, and GigaTera provided a complete turn-key solution that encompassed everything from lighting consulting to supply, installation, and commissioning.
Inside the hangar, 154 units of the 'SEGA-500W' high-bay light were installed to secure a high average illuminance of 450 lux, and provided the safest and most comfortable working environment for engineers through glare-minimizing technology. Additionally, on the hangar's exterior apron, 'MAHA-400W' floodlights featuring asymmetrical beam profile technology were installed to fundamentally prevent glare for pilots during aircraft approach. Beyond this, the entire facility, including streetlights and facade lighting, was completed with GigaTera's integrated solution.
The successful outcome of the project was clearly validated by an official evaluation from the Presidential Flight team. An official reported that the "Presidential Flight was greatly impressed with GigaTera's professional and flawless hangar solution through this project." This signifies that GigaTera's technology and project execution capabilities delivered the highest satisfaction to a top-tier client with the world's most stringent standards.
