- This project is a premier partnership success story, proven by technology and trust, in which Dickies Arena—'America's best multi-purpose arena,' which had successfully installed GigaTera's LED lighting system at its 2019 opening—underwent a complete upgrade in 2024 to an innovative system featuring RGBW and Tunable White lighting combined with RTS™ (Remote-controlled Tilting & Rotation) technology through a continued partnership with GigaTera.
Having already established its reputation as North America's premier multi-purpose arena upon its opening in 2019, Dickies Arena was already equipped with a world-class lighting environment built with GigaTera's high-performance sports lighting. However, to provide an immersive experience beyond imagination for spectators at ever-changing world-class events such as rodeos, concerts, and NCAA basketball tournaments, and to dramatically reduce the time and cost associated with event changeovers, the arena decided on another technological evolution.
Based on a foundation of solid trust with GigaTera, Dickies Arena undertook a massive upgrade in 2024, moving beyond a simple lighting replacement to a 'fully integrated entertainment lighting system.' Through its latest solution, perfectly compatible with the arena's DMX control system, GigaTera seamlessly integrated full-spectrum RGBW lighting that transforms the entire venue into one giant canvas, and Tunable White technology that freely changes the color temperature of the light to suit the nature of the event. This has made it possible to execute numerous pre-programmed scenarios with a single click, such as immersing the stadium in the team's iconic colors, creating spectacular lighting effects that erupt at scoring moments, and producing a light show that lives and breathes with the beat of a concert.
Notably, the core of this upgrade, the RTS™ (Remote-controlled Tilting & Rotation) technology, has changed the operational paradigm. The manual rigging and lighting reset tasks that previously took days for special events have been completely eliminated. Now, all lights can be precisely controlled remotely from the ground in just a matter of minutes, maximizing both operational efficiency and safety.
The successful outcome of the project was once again proven by the highest praise from the arena's general manager. Matt Homan, President and General Manager of Dickies Arena, lauded the system, saying, "GigaTera's new LED lighting system is truly a 'game-changer' for our arena."
