GigaTera's Technology, Setting the Standard for Port Modernization
- This project is a premier port modernization project in which the aging lighting at Ceyport Tekirdağ International Port, a key logistics hub in Türkiye's Marmara Sea, was successfully replaced with GigaTera's high-performance LED lighting system in a project led by our Turkish partner in 2021.
In a 24-hour international port, the safety of nighttime operations is a top priority directly linked to operational efficiency. However, Ceyport Tekirdağ Port faced a serious problem where the aging of its existing lighting resulted in significantly low illuminance, threatening the safety of nighttime workers and hindering operational efficiency.
Furthermore, excessive energy consumption and high maintenance costs were adding to the burden of port operations. To solve these problems, our local partner adopted GigaTera's high-output LED lighting, which has been proven for its world-class performance and reliability, as the core solution. The combination of precision lighting design and outstanding product performance raised the average illuminance of the entire port to the required standard of 30 lux, securing perfect nighttime visibility.
The successful outcome of the project was clearly validated by an official evaluation from a port official. An official from Ceyport Tekirdağ Port stated, "We are very satisfied with the results, as the brighter and more uniform lighting secured in the port area has greatly improved the safety of the nighttime working environment." They added, "In addition, a high level of energy savings was also achieved," expressing high confidence in the results that achieved both goals of safety and efficiency.
This project is another successful industrial port lighting installation case that shows how GigaTera's innovative technology can solve the most fundamental problems of port operations and provide value that exceeds customer expectations.
