The First Light of its Kind in Korea,
GigaTera's Smart Lighting, Directing Both Games and Events
- This project is a premier installation case study of the complete replacement of the old, existing lighting system at the Mulmalgeun Yangpyeong Stadium, a major public sports facility in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, with GigaTera's LED solution in 2018.
This lighting replacement was a core component of the project to elevate all of the stadium's facilities to the highest level for the successful hosting of the '64th Gyeonggi Provincial Sports Festival.' GigaTera went beyond simple competition lighting to create a multi-purpose space that combines sports and entertainment by perfectly integrating, for the first time in Korea, the stadium's main lighting with RGB color lighting.
A total of 152 SUFA 1.2kW main lights and 32 SUFA-RGB 400W color lights were installed in the stadium. GigaTera's wired control system integrally controls both lighting systems, enabling dynamic light shows for various non-competition events, such as creating a spectacular production for the opening ceremony of the Gyeonggi Provincial Sports Festival.
Furthermore, GigaTera's precision optical technology provided perfect, shadow-free uniformity across the entire field and track, and played a decisive role in vividly recording and delivering every moment of the competition through its perfect flicker-free technology, optimized for ultra-high-definition broadcasting.
