MLB Introduces the World's First LED Sports Lighting A Triumph for GigaTera, the History of SUFA Sports Lighting Begins.: This case details the introduction of Major League Baseball's first-ever LED lighting system after two years of preparation and verification. In a competition among the world's leading lighting companies, GigaTera successfully won the project by demonstrating an overwhelming performance gap. The adoption of this LED lighting system is greatly contributing to energy savings and enhancing the club's image as an eco-friendly organization, as well as improving player performance.

The existing 2.0kW (2.13kW including ballast) metal halide lamps were replaced on a 1-to-1 basis with GigaTera's SUFA 800W sports light. To achieve the optimal lighting design, dozens of on-site verifications and simulation designs were conducted alongside harsh field tests. The system fully satisfies the stringent Major League Baseball lighting standards, and through these results, this case has set a new milestone in the history of LED sports lighting.
