Delivering the Light of UEFA's Highest Standard
- This project is a premier installation case study of the complete upgrade of the existing lighting system at San Mamés Stadium—a state-of-the-art, UEFA Category 4 venue and the home stadium of the prestigious LaLiga club Athletic Club—with GigaTera's state-of-the-art SUFA series LED solution in 2019.
To meet the highly stringent lighting standards required by Europe's top football league, GigaTera participated in the project with the goal of implementing a UEFA Elite A Level lighting environment. Through precision simulations, GigaTera's engineering team created an environment where players can perform at their best by providing perfect, shadow-free uniformity across the entire field.
Notably, GigaTera's SUFA series implemented perfect flicker-free technology and a high TLCI (Television Lighting Consistency Index) value, optimized for 4K broadcasting. Through this, it successfully satisfied all stakeholders by providing a vivid, on-site experience for viewers worldwide and the best visual experience for the players and spectators in the stadium.
After the project's completion, Athletic Club officially announced that "the new lighting system will meet the most stringent broadcast standards of UEFA and LaLiga, and will place our stadium at the forefront of technology." The club also expressed high satisfaction with the innovative changes brought by GigaTera's solution, stating, "It has provided a better competitive environment for the players and an unparalleled experience for the fans."
