The Perfect Light for Nationals Park

A Harmony of Premier Competition Lighting and Dynamic RGB Effects

This project is a premier installation case study of the complete upgrade of the existing lighting system at Nationals Park, the home stadium of the prestigious Major League Baseball (MLB) club, the Washington Nationals, based in the U.S. capital of Washington, D.C., with GigaTera's state-of-the-art LED solution in 2017.

Ahead of hosting the 2018 MLB All-Star Game, and in line with the club's goal of elevating all stadium facilities to the highest level, GigaTera proposed an integrated solution that addressed both key challenges: creating a perfect competitive environment and delivering dynamic entertainment productions. First, through the SUFA series main competition lighting, it achieved shadow-free, uniform illuminance across the entire field and completed a visual environment optimized for ultra-high-definition (4K/8K) broadcasting with its high Color Rendering Index (CRI) and perfect flicker-free technology.

Simultaneously, GigaTera also installed a DMX-controlled RGB color lighting system, transforming the venue from a simple ballpark into a 'sports entertainment space' that offers fans an unforgettable experience. Nationals Park now maximizes spectator immersion through spectacular and dynamic light shows that utilize the team's iconic colors during home runs or scoring moments.
