Lighting that Surpassed FIBA (International Basketball Federation) Standards
GigaTera Sports Lighting SUFA
- Changwon Gymnasium is known as the gymnasium that draws the most spectators in the professional basketball league. In the 2013-14 season, it became the first in professional basketball to surpass 2 million spectators, leading Changwon City to be called the 'Mecca of basketball cities.' The gymnasium has a total floor area of 14,146m² and can accommodate up to 6,000 spectators.
This installation case was carried out upon the client's request to build a lighting system that meets the hosting standards for FIBA (International Basketball Federation) international games. Through the installation of the SUFA series, it not only satisfied the said standards but also proved the technical excellence of GigaTera sports lighting by implementing a lighting environment reaching up to 2,100 lx.
The installation of GigaTera SUFA 400W and 800W LED lighting was completed in November 2015, and after the replacement, an astonishing energy saving rate of 84% was realized. However, one of the key points that further satisfied the client was the implementation of event lighting through wired control. This is because, for example, by utilizing the main stadium lighting as event lighting when introducing the home team players before a game, it is possible to dramatically create the pre-game atmosphere and provide the spectators with a new lighting environment that is both pleasant and engaging.
The GigaTera SUFA sports lighting installed through this project is recognized not only for its ability to fulfill its role as main lighting that fully satisfies international regulations but also for its capacity to create excellent effects for various events, making it sports lighting that can satisfy both players and spectators.
