A Light that Illuminates the City's Arteries, Adding Safety and Prestige

GigaTera's Light, Redrawing the Nights of the Ancient Thousand-Year City, Gyeongju

This project is a premier urban infrastructure improvement solution in which the aging streetlights on Industrial Road, a key transportation artery in the historic and cultural city of Gyeongju, were completely replaced with GigaTera's high-efficiency 'META' LED roadway light, enhancing not only the safety of citizens and drivers but also the city's nighttime landscape.

As a key transportation artery in Gyeongju, Industrial Road is a vital thoroughfare for countless citizens and vehicles, but its old, existing lighting presented challenges such as significant energy waste, low illuminance that caused anxiety for nighttime drivers, and a negative impact on the city's aesthetics.

To solve these urban challenges, GigaTera proposed its high-efficiency META LED roadway light as the optimal solution. META reduces driver's visual fatigue by enabling the clear identification of objects and lanes with a clean light that is close to natural daylight. Furthermore, GigaTera's precision optical technology uniformly illuminates the entire road without glare, providing a safe and pleasant driving environment at night, as if it were broad daylight.

After the project's completion, Gyeongju Industrial Road was completely transformed into a safe road that all drivers and citizens can use with peace of mind. As can be seen in the attached photos, the META lighting, combined with stylishly designed poles, creates a more beautiful and modern nightscape for the ancient thousand-year city of Gyeongju. Furthermore, the significant energy savings and long lifespan greatly reduce the city's operating budget, and it is regarded as the most successful case of urban infrastructure improvement that achieved all three goals of safety, scenery, and efficiency.
