GigaTera's Light, Securing the Nights of a Key National Transportation Hub
- This project is a premier overseas roadway lighting solution in which GigaTera's high-efficiency META LED roadway light was applied in 2021 at the Changkat Jering Interchange, a strategic hub where Malaysia's key transportation arteries, the North-South Expressway and the West Coast Expressway, meet, to maximize the safety and efficiency of this key national infrastructure.
Located in the state of Perak, Malaysia, the Changkat Jering Interchange is more than just an intersection; it is a critically important transportation hub where the nation's two key expressways converge. The lighting in this area, where countless vehicles intersect at high speeds 24 hours a day, was faced with a challenge of national importance: to provide absolute safety and a clear line of sight for drivers.
To solve this nationally significant challenge, GigaTera proposed a single solution boasting outstanding versatility and overwhelming performance: the 'META.' The META roadway light, which incorporates GigaTera's precision optical technology, provides optimal light tailored to different road conditions, such as straightaways and complex curved ramps, and perfectly guarantees a comfortable, uniform, and glare-free line of sight for drivers.
After the project's completion, the Changkat Jering Expressway Interchange was reborn as one perfect and beautiful 'path of light,' as can be seen in the attached aerial photo. The bright and clear road illuminated by META provides superior safety for all drivers using this national artery, and the beautiful nighttime landscape that flows elegantly along the road's course has elevated the prestige of this national infrastructure to the next level. This is the most successful case that proves that even the most complex and important transportation hub can be perfectly controlled with just a single product line.
