This project is a premier success story that showcases the essence of the most advanced sports lighting engineering, in which a state-of-the-art hybrid solution—combining GigaTera's precision full cut-off SUMA lighting and high-performance asymmetrical MAHA lighting—was applied to the hockey field of the world's most prestigious university, the University of Oxford, to complete a world-class facility befitting the university's prestige.

With its world-renowned prestige, the University of Oxford was faced with the challenge of maintaining its on-campus sports facilities at the highest level as well. Field hockey, in particular, which demands high speed and precise control, required a superior lighting environment to ensure the performance and safety of its athletes. The old, existing lighting did not meet international competition standards, and a technological innovation that went beyond a simple improvement in brightness was needed.

To solve this intellectual challenge, GigaTera proposed the most advanced solution: a 'combination of state-of-the-art technologies.' It applied a hybrid solution that combined the installation of the precision full cut-off SUMA lighting, which achieves near-zero light pollution, and the full cut-off asymmetrical MAHA lighting, which enables effective light distribution. This demonstrates GigaTera's high-level engineering capabilities to maximize both performance and efficiency by combining the most advanced technologies in the most optimal way to suit the characteristics and requirements of each space.

After the project's completion, the Oxford University hockey field was reborn as a superior playing environment where athletes can be fully immersed in the game. The perfect harmony of the two advanced lights provides uniform, glare-free, and shadow-free light across the entire field, which immediately led to high satisfaction from athletes and school officials.
