- This project is a premier premium indoor sports lighting solution in which high-performance MAHA LED lighting was installed on the indoor courts of the prestigious 'Azamino Lawn Tennis Club' in Kanagawa, Japan, in 2019 through GigaTera's official Japanese partner, ENDO, to provide members with a superior playing environment and to deliver overwhelming operational efficiency to the club.
The reputation of a prestigious tennis club begins with the best court conditions. Azamino Lawn Tennis Club was faced with the challenge of overcoming the limitations of its existing 1000W class metal halide lamps in order to provide the ultimate playing experience for its members. Low illuminance and glare hindered the members' performance, while high power consumption and frequent lamp replacements were a direct cause of the club's decreased operational efficiency.
To solve this challenge, GigaTera's partner, Endo Lighting, proposed GigaTera's MAHA lighting, optimized for premium indoor spaces, as the solution. The precision optical design of the MAHA provides shadow-free, uniform light across the entire indoor court and minimizes glare, creating a pleasant environment where members can be perfectly immersed only in their game.
After the project's completion, the Azamino Lawn Tennis Club achieved a success that exceeded expectations in every aspect. The average illuminance of the courts was dramatically improved to over 700 lux, providing members with a bright and pleasant playing environment at an international competition level. This became an important factor in further elevating the club's prestige. Above all, it is regarded as a premier success story for achieving all of this with a phenomenal energy saving of approximately 60% compared to the previous system, dramatically reducing the club's operational costs and laying the foundation for sustainable growth.
