GigaTeraCompany History

Company History

"The R&D spirit that challenges the impossible,
surprising the world in just 3 years."
Surpassing global competitors to illuminate MLB stadiums,
GigaTera leads the world market with relentless technological innovation.
GigaTera, The Technology That Moves the Future, RTS™
GigaTera is strengthening its position as a global brand by establishing a remarkable portfolio of installations in the sports and industrial lighting markets worldwide, with subsidiaries in the USA, Japan, Germany, and Turkey as its strategic bases. And now, we are introducing another innovation through 'Moving Lighting', the RTS™ (Remote-Controlled Tilting and Steering) technology.
At the end of 2024, the RTS™-integrated RGBW lighting installed at Dickies Arena in the USA opened a new horizon for sports entertainment. This innovation continues into 2025 at Bundesliga's Borussia-Park in Germany. By installing RGBW lighting combined with RTS™ technology alongside the stadium's primary lighting, GigaTera is unlocking new possibilities in the future lighting market, creating dynamic experiences with light.
GigaTera, A New Leap for Innovation
In 2012, GigaTera established the "Crazy R&D" center, the heart of technological innovation, and accelerated the expansion of its portfolio to encompass all sectors, including sports, industrial, landscape, and roadway lighting.
This bold investment in R&D has led to remarkable achievements.
Just three years after the R&D center's establishment, in 2015, GigaTera set a historic milestone by becoming the first in the world to install LED sports lighting at the stadiums of MLB's Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees.
Following this, at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, GigaTera supplied lighting for all competition venues, providing another opportunity to prove its technological excellence on the world's greatest stage.
The Birth of GigaTera, Technical Conviction and a New Challenge
Having established an unrivaled position in the wireless communication sector, KMW discovered the potential for a new business within its core technological capabilities. The 'thermal management technology', directly linked to the stability of telecom equipment, was the key element determining the lifespan and efficiency of high-power LED lighting.
Based on this unique thermal technology accumulated over decades, KMW launched the 'GigaTera' brand in 2009, entering the LED lighting business.
KMW, Establishment and Growth
In 1991, KMW took its first step as a company specializing in the development and production of mobile communication base station equipment and components. Since its establishment, KMW has led technological innovation in the telecommunications field as a global leader.
