GigaTera: A Journey of Light, Illuminating the World with Invisible Technology
"A lighting company more recognized overseas than in its home market." This might sound unfamiliar, but for GigaTera, it is a familiar description.
In the global sports lighting market, where giants like M Corp. are competing, GigaTera's light has been quietly illuminating the world's greatest stages.
By lighting up the fields of numerous Major League Baseball (MLB) stadiums and proving its technological capabilities at countless global landmarks, GigaTera has built a legacy of trust proven by results, not just words.
The story of this light begins in 1991, with the birth of Korea Microwave (KMW).
KMW led innovation in telecommunications technology through the development of mobile communication base station equipment and components. There was a conviction that with the precision technology to master invisible radio frequencies (RF), they could also perfectly control visible light.
Thus, in 2011, KMW established its LED lighting division as a new engine for growth.

An Unseen Commonality:
Where Telecom Technology Meets Light
At a glance, telecommunications and lighting seem to walk entirely different paths. However, a surprising commonality lies at their roots. The first is 'thermal management technology' that withstands extreme environments. This technology, directly linked to the life of telecom equipment, remains the fundamental principle that determines the lifespan and efficiency of high-power LED lighting.
The second is 'precision design technology'.
The principles of designing pathways for radio waves and optimizing the illuminance and uniformity of light are remarkably similar. The world-class telecommunications technology and production infrastructure that KMW had already secured became the foundation for a new challenge and an inevitable leap forward into the lighting business.

Beyond Extremes, Onto the World Stage
Trust Built on Technology
Telecommunications equipment must operate flawlessly in every imaginable extreme environment, from rugged mountaintops to remote wilderness. It must withstand not only water and dust but also severe temperature changes, corrosion, and intense direct sunlight. The technical capability and uncompromising durability that KMW has accumulated over decades, ensuring consistent performance in any extreme environment, have been seamlessly integrated into GigaTera's lighting.
The result was astonishing. Despite the handicap of being a latecomer, GigaTera made history in 2015 by becoming the first in the world to install LED sports lighting at the home stadium of the MLB's Seattle Mariners (then Safeco Field). This was more than a simple installation; it was a triumph that earned high praise from MLB’s official inspection team and led to a series of successes, illuminating the stadiums of prestigious clubs like the New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Rays, and St. Louis Cardinals.

GigaTera
Declaring the Independence of Light,
Towards a Wider World
Growing under the strong wings of KMW, GigaTera became independent as GigaTera Lighting Inc. in 2017, embarking on a head-to-head competition in the market. Based on the technology and trust proven in MLB stadiums, we have illuminated the top league stadiums in Europe, including Bundesliga's Borussia Mönchengladbach and La Liga's Athletic Bilbao, and have steadily enhanced our brand recognition by securing landmark projects around the world.
In the lighting market, especially in the sports and high-end sectors, survival is not possible with technology and price competitiveness alone. To stand shoulder to shoulder with global companies known by name alone, a brand value that surpassed theirs was necessary, and GigaTera has steadfastly walked that path.

Relentless Innovation
GigaTera's Promise to Light Up the Future
And now, GigaTera is preparing for another leap forward. In 2024, our proprietary PTX™ thermal management technology has been engineered to be even lighter in weight and more powerful in performance. To this, we have added RTS™ (Remote-Controlled Tilting and Steering) technology, which enables precise control over the direction of light for dynamic sports entertainment productions.
This innovation continues into 2025 with another achievement: the installation of primary and RGBW lighting at Bundesliga's BMG Park (Borussia-Park). Beyond fundamental white light, By offering Tunable White lighting that freely adjusts warmth and coolness, and inplementing RGBW lighting that implements a diverse spectrum of colors, GigaTera is further solidifying its market competitiveness with the most complete lighting solutions.

GigaTera:
